RESPONSIBILITIES:The incumbent will be responsible for providing front office reception/administrative duties for University Health Services. Specific duties include: greeting and checking in patients; scheduling appointments; processing laboratory results; answering phones; taking clear, concise messages for providers; communicating with the medical providers about any patient needs; serving as back-up supervisor for student workers; entering immunization information into internal University Health Services’ (UHS) system and Peoplesoft; keeping record of blocking and unblocking students; maintaining a familiarity with UHS policies and procedures; opening and date stamping all mail; maintaining contact with the off-campus vendor for patient file retrieval; maintaining the office equipment located in the front check-in area and medical records area; processing medical records requests, requests for immunization records and appointment visit records; dispensing pharmacy deliveries; and performing other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GED and two years’ full-time clerical experience. Excellent customer service and computer skills. Previous doctor’s office experience a plus. Electronic medical record experience desired.
SALARY:Pay range 5 (starting at $25,848) based upon University System of Maryland Pay Program.
