|RESPONSIBILITIES:||The Assistant Director of Alumni Relations
is an essential member of UMBCís creative and dynamic alumni and development team dedicated to fostering strong ties between the University and its 62,000+ alumni. Reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations, the incumbent will be responsible for building relationships with alumni and for promoting programs that support the Universityís strategic plan, as well as those of the offices of Institutional Advancement and Alumni and Development. Specific duties include: managing current and emerging volunteer initiatives; coordinating the affinity partners programs designed to provide alumni discounted benefits and services; collaborating with targeted University departments and special programs to develop a strategic alumni engagement plan; providing leadership and guidance to existing and growing alumni chapters/communities; working on special alumni relations and development projects; supporting the work of the alumni board and its committees; supporting projects in communications and annual giving; assisting with the implementation of signature programs such as homecoming and career week; and performing other duties as assigned.
|MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:||Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelorís degree (Masterís preferred). Two years of alumni relations and/or development experience in a higher education setting and experience managing or developing volunteers and volunteer programs preferred. Must be skilled in the following: verbal and written communication; social media and networking; and creative program planning. Additionally, the candidate should possess the ability to motivate; work effectively with groups and individuals; be detail oriented; and have the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, multi-faceted, and dynamic organization. |
