RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to the Director, Student Affairs Administrative and Business Service, the incumbent shall with minimal supervision, oversee all financial services for assigned departments within the Division of Student Affairs. Specific duties include: managing departmental finance and budget operations, human resource requirements, procurement, and facilities renewal and management; supervising three to six Accounting Associates; applying a high level of technical skill, knowledge, and judgment utilizing effective business management principles to a wide array of difficult problems that are often unusual and confidential in nature; utilizing knowledge of procurement, personnel/payroll, accounting and auditing policies, regulations and guidelines to efficiently and effectively manage the processing of business transactions and to develop and implement new policies and procedures for the problems and challenges that result from the unique and innovative initiatives; and performing other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelorís degree (Masterís preferred) in business, accounting or related area. Must have three to five years of progressively responsible experience managing financial services, preferably in a public institution. Experience in managing multiple business functions is strongly desired. Experience with QuickBooks Pro desired. Advanced knowledge of management principles, practices, methods, and techniques is essential. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships, to make clear oral and written presentations, to interpret complex written materials and to be able to effectively work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment under deadlines. Experience in higher education is preferred. Experience with PeopleSoft Financial Administration software a plus. Note: A background check will be required for this position.
SALARY: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
