UMBC in Mexico City
  • Location: Centro de Ensenanza para Extranjeros, Universidad Autonoma de Mexico, Mexico City
  • Term: Fall semester only
  • Requirements: 2.5 GPA, at least three semesters of university-level Spanish

Notes: Classes are taught at the Centro de Enseñanza para Extranjeros at UNAM. Students who place at Level III or above can complete a UMBC Spanish minor in one semester in Mexico. All courses are taught in Spanish.

UMCP in Taxco
  • Location: Centro de Ensenanza para Extranjeros, Universidad Autonoma de Mexico, Taxco
  • Term: Summer only
  • Requirements: 2.5 GPA, at least one semester of university-level Spanish
Notes: Classes are taught at the Centro de Enseñanza para Extranjeros at UNAM-Taxco. All courses are taught in Spanish. Students should consider combining a summer in Taxco with the UMBC in Mexico program for up to 22 credits of Spanish in six months.
International Studies Abroad
  • Location: Universidad de Guanajuato, Guanajuato, the University of Veracruz, Xalapa and the University of Guadalajara, Guadalajara
  • Terms: Semester, academic year, summer,
  • Requirements: 2.75 GPA, 2 to 4 semesters of Spanish, depending on the program
Notes: Students with intermediate and higher level of Spanish may enroll for ISA programs in Mexico. Programs are either with other US and international students or with local university students. All courses in Guanajuato and Guadalajara are taught in Spanish.   Limited coursework is available in English at the University of Veracruz.
