Approved Deviations from a Full Course of Study1. Vacation (as in summer or winter semester breaks)2. Medical problems - you need to get a statement from a health care practitioner, on letterhead, explaining your situation. 3. Teaching or research assistantship 4. Postdoctoral students or fellows - coursework and employment of no more than 20 hours per week while school is in session. 5. Graduate students who have completed their formal coursework. 6. Valid academic reasons for enrolling less than full-time - these would need to be approved by the school. 7. Undergraduates completing programs during the current term. 8. Approved practical training 9. A student at a school where DHS approval of that school is withdrawn. Please note that permission for the above-listed deviations must be obtained in advance and not retroactively. If you know you will have a problem maintaining a full course of study during the semester, please come and talk to us as soon as possible. Concurrent enrollment is possible - registration at two institutions, as long as the total coursework equals full-time and the student is in a degree program at one of the institutions.
