In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, it is illegal for the UMBC Study Abroad Office to give a student’s name or any other information to anyone unless he or she has given us written permission to do so.
Prior to leaving the country, the Study Abroad Office provides all students with an Information Release Authorization. At the students' discretion, they may grant the University and the Study Abroad Office permission to release information about their student records to a third party/parties by submitting the authorization form.
