Depending on course availability or your language placement test results, you may decide to take a course for which you did not previously receive approval.

If you decide to change classes once you arrive overseas, contact Laurie Beth Harow in the Registrar's Office to assure that these new classes will transfer back.  You will need to provide as much information as possible, including a course description or syllabus of the class or classes you wish to have approved, as well as information as to how you hope to have the course count toward your UMBC degree program. 

Please do not expect an overnight answer.   Often the Registrar's Office must consult with academic departments in order to determine how your class can transfer back to UMBC.  This process can take several weeks, so please be patient.
