Devin T. Hagerty is an Associate Professor in UMBC's political science department. He teaches courses in international relations, national security, Asia-Pacific affairs, nuclear proliferation, and qualitative methods in political science. Dr. Hagerty is the author of The Consequences of Nuclear Proliferation: Lessons from South Asia, published by the MIT Press in 1998. He has recently completed two books due out in 2005 -- South Asia in World Politics, an edited volume to be published by Rowman and Littlefield, and Fearful Symmetry: Indo-Pakistani Crises in the Shadow of Nuclear Weapons (co-authored with Sumit Ganguly), to be published by the University of Washington Press. Dr. Hagerty is the managing editor of a journal called Asian Security.
