The Association for Integrative Studies

The Association for Integrative Studies is an interdisciplinary professional organization founded in 1979 to promote the interchange of ideas among scholars and administrators in all of the arts and sciences on intellectual and organizational issues related to furthering integrative studies.

AOK Library Resources
The library has created some excellent tutorials and subject guides for helping students move beyond the google level of research. All of the resources are on the library webpage, under the RESEARCH HELP tab, and in Blackboard under the Library tab, but if you want to add any of the resources directly to an online syllabus or other resource, here are the URLS:

Scholarship Resources:

The Scholarship Retriever is provided to assist UMBC undergraduate students to identify scholarship resources.

Prestigious scholarships or fellowships are highly competitive, either nationally or internationally. They provide financial support and other  benefits to limited numbers of highly qualified candidates. 

Several scholarships and awards are available to students in Economics and Administrative Sciences

All current undergraduates who have conducted research, scholarship or creative work in the last year may apply to present their results at the Undergraduate Research and Creative Achievement Day (URCAD)

Carnegie Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning  (CASTL)

The Shriver Center offers a variety of internships, research opportunities, and the France & Merrick Scholarship.

Scholars Programs at UMBC

UMBC is especially known for six named scholars programs - the Center for Women and Information Technology Scholars, Meyerhoff Scholars (science and engineering), Humanities Scholars, Linehan Artist Scholars, Sherman Teacher Education Scholars and Sondheim Public Affairs Scholars. 

The Center for Women and Information Technology

The Meyerhoff Program is open to all high-achieving high school seniors who have an interest in pursuing doctoral study in the sciences or engineering, and who are interested in the advancement of minorities in the sciences and related fields.

Humanities Scholars at UMBC study the great thinkers of the past and present in light of modern scientific discoveries, popular culture and current social issues.

Linehan Artist Scholars have opportunities to perform and exhibit in a range of venues - UMBC galleries, in resident ensembles and companies, with guest artists and in student productions.

Sherman Teacher Education Scholars 

The Sondheim Public Affairs Scholars Program provides generous four-year awards often covering the greater part of the cost of attendance at UMBC. Selected scholars will be offered scholarships ranging from $5000 to $22,000 annually.
