Tom Schaller, Political Science, in the News
Associate Professor of Political Science Tom Schaller’s latest column for the Baltimore Sun discussed why Republican John McCain is running his presidential campaign backwards: first, winning enough delegates to secure the nomination and then moving to the party base rather than the center. The column, “Running in Reverse: From the Middle to the Right,” ran on March 13.

Writing for the New Republic, Schaller noted that the Hillary Clinton campaign masterfully overwhelmed talk of Barack Obama’s momentum after Obama’s primary wins in Wyoming and Mississippi by talking about a Clinton-Obama ticket. The column, “Funny Games,” appeared on March 13.
