Data or Specimens Only Research Module

 

Core Module Topics

This module is designed for faculty, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students involved in less than minimal risk research that uses pre-existing data, records and/or specimens and when such data may fall within the exempt (subcategory 4) or expedited categories of review (Category 5).   Investigators whose research goes beyond data/record review or secondary data analysis are required to complete the core modules of the Social & Behavioral training.

Topics within this module include:

History and Ethical Principles
Defining Research with Human Subjects
The Regulations and The Social and Behavioral Sciences
 

Reading, reviewing and completing the core module and quizzes will take approximately 1 hour. An aggregate score of 75% is required to receive a course completion report.

Optional Module Topics

Optional modules are provided for general interest and suggested reading only. Completing these modules do not show up on any completion reports and participants do not receive "extra credit" for completing them. They will be credited in the CITI grade book if a participant subsequently enrolls in a course that includes them. Topics within this module include:
