All students may request authorization at any time. However, it will only be processed on a weekly basis following the schedule above. Furthermore MA students must follow the advising procedure in order for their request to be processed. Please follow this link to view the Advising procedure.

Requests for authorization to register should be sent to Sharese Essien at sharese@umbc.edu in the following format: Campus ID, Program (Certificate/MA, ISD, EHS, IO Psych. etc), Course Number and Delivery Method (Online/ In-person). After processing, authorization will be valid for 2 weeks. Beginning January 1st, students will be granted 1 week from the date of authorization to register. If you fail to register within this timeframe, your permission will expire and you must submit another request. You are strongly advised to register as soon as you receive authorization. Waiting to register may jeopardize you getting the class you want, and possibly your graduation date. To ensure your place in the class, please register immediately after you are authorized. Please note that being authorized to register does not guarantee you a seat in a class.

Students interested in courses EDUC 792T and 794 should contact Dr. Greg Williams directly at gregw@umbc.edu prior to requesting authorization. Students needing academic advising should contact Dr. Chuck Hodell at hodell@umbc.edu.
