The Learning and Professional Development intern will work as part of a small team that is developing national programs and initiatives for staff and volunteers nationwide.
Assist with the development of a new learning program for nationwide staff
Assist withplanning and implementing the ALA's new Learning Management System
Assist with the implementation and administration of technical training to support staff nationwide in learning to use the ALA's new Constituent Relationship ManagementSystem
Provide support for the planning and execution of online learning
Participate in compiling and analyzing data from needs assessments, research, and program tracking and evaluation
Up to 20 hours per week during normal business hours
Graduate Students/ Advanced Undergraduates are encouraged to apply. Qualified candidates should possess knowledge of adult training and education methods, familiarity with creating and using online learning tools, strong analytical and writing abilities, creative problem solving skills, and careful attention to detail. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office required, particularly in Excel, Power Point, and Word; hands-on experience with authoring technologies and multi-media applications
and experience planning and conducting webinars preferred. Ideal for those enrolled in human resources, business, communications, organization development, or education courses who are seeking experience in training and development, on-line learning, organization development, or human resources development.
