Graduate Instructional Design Intern for Fischell Department of Bioengineering

Hours: 10-20 hours per week

About: The Fischell Department of Bioengineering at University of Maryland College Park is seeking an energetic graduate intern currently studying Instructional Strategies or Design to assist them in improving, reviewing and developing existing graduate course content. The Instructional Design Intern will be responsible for working directly with the faculty to create and develop online courses for the Professional Master of Engineering Program. The student intern will receive an invaluable opportunity to contribute to a growing department and and take a hands-on approach to online professional learning.

Job Responsibilities:
· Building courses within the Enterprise Learning Management System (ELMS)
· Reviewing lectures and ELMS content
· Contribute to the design and execution of online course assignments and materials
· Complete special projects as assigned

Key Skills:
· Ability to work independently and to follow guidance of faculty
· Enrolled in Graduate program part time or full time
· Excellent communication skills
· Focused on achieving defined result and exceeding goals and objectives\
· Ability to remain detail-oriented and self-directed
· Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of new territory
· Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
· Software skills related to e-Learning, Instructional design and/or web design preferred
· Familiarity with science/technology/engineering content or subject matter preferred

Compensation: Commensurate with experience
