Multimedia/Curriculum Development Intern
RefugeeWorks is seeking a creative and passionate intern to assist with several multimedia and research projects that will promote the skills and talents that newcomers bring to the U.S. workforce. The intern will play a major role in the development and design of RefugeeWorks website, online projects, and curriculum research and development. RefugeeWorks is a program of Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service that provides technical assistance to a national network of employment service providers. Through training, consultation, and timely publications, RefugeeWorks seeks to support employment services so that resettled refugees become valuable workers and participating members of mainstream society.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help maintain and update content on the website.Assist with developing a monthly e-news template and researching information for each month’s issue.Maintain communication with our online community, including emails, blogs, posting comments, etc. Maintain and assist in audit of website and all live web pages in order to monitor traffic and domains.Assist in developing virtual classroom trainings and potential online videos.
- Conduct research on relevant issues within the national resettlement arena.
QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:
- Experience working with social media, website, and other virtual tools.Graphic design skills.Interest in refugee and/or international issues.Background in online research.Demonstrated creativity and flexibility. Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.Willingness to learn new things.Ability to work well with others. Sense of humor.Good organization skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Basic HTML code, Internet search, and social media sites.
Compensation:
Internships available at RefugeeWorks/LIRS are currently unpaid positions. Academic credit is available for this internship experience.
