JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

CourseSites is a cutting edge teaching and learning platform from Blackboard Inc. delivered using a SaaS delivery model and the latest Blackboard Learn™ software. The CourseSites team is looking for an online instructional design and training development intern who can help advance the CourseSites instructor training program including the design, development, and management of self-paced, online training and live, remote sessions. In particular, we are seeking a visionary individual who is familiar with all phases of full life cycle Instructional Design / Development with the ability to transform complex technical concepts into clear concise training.

Specifically s/he will be responsible for:

Enhancing the online, self-paced Getting Started with CourseSites course with facilitator guides/job-aids, self-guided activities, and post-lesson assessments.
Designing the overall instructional flow of an advanced topics course, and develop related content incorporating a variety of instructional tools, including HTML pages, graphics, streaming video & audio, and flash animation.
Providing assistance with the development of live, remote training sessions, and staff live office hours to address CourseSites Instructor questions.
Composing weekly tips and tricks to share with the CourseSites Instructor Community.
Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Working towards a graduate degree in Education or Education-related discipline, with significant experience in online curriculum building and web-based course development within an asynchronous learning network environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Experience working collaboratively on educational courses and/or projects, and leading multiple projects.
Good understanding of online pedagogy.
Experience with Blackboard Learn, HTML, Dreamweaver, PowerPoint, Photoshop or Fireworks or related tools.
The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Experience and demonstrated competence in working with learning management/online learning platforms, especially Blackboard Learn.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Experience providing face-to-face and/or synchronous, online education and training.
Experience with Elluminate.
Experience with Flash with audio, Respondus, and SoftChalk.
Proven ability to stay current with rapidly changing technologies.
Understanding of Adult Learning Theory.
