Industry

Industry salaries vary much more than government salaries. 2008 Federal Government starting or entry level salaries with a Masters Degree with no prior experience will be at the GS-9 level at $48,108. The salary information listed below is derived from the ASTD 2007 Salary Survey and represents median salary which includes federal and private salaries:

  • Executives:  $120,000
  • Directors:     $90,000
  • Managers:    $80,000
  • Supervisors, Team Leaders, Individual Contributors, Specialists, and University Instructors:  below $70,000.
  • Median income of the profession:  $70,000 to $90,000.  (National average for all types of jobs: $48,000.)

Remember salary is based upon many factors such as salary negotiating skills, job qualifications, job supply and demand, etc..
