Why Participate:

  • Obtain access to a pool of pre-screened, high achieving UMBC students with an entrepreneurial interest.
  • 50% of the student stipends are covered by foundation funds.  Estimated company contribution equals $1,250 per intern - approximately $6.94 per hour. Student interns are paid $2,500 for their service.
  • Obtain a fresh perspective from interns.

How the program Works at UMBC:
Submission, Selection, and Timetable

  • Submit your position description by Tuesday, November 20, 2007.
  • Receive student credentials for review by mid December.
  • Interview potential candidates and make selections for the best fit with your organization by the end of January.
  • Begin intern placement during the first week of February.

Eligible Companies Must:

  • Have $50 million or less in annual revenue and/or fewer than 100 employees.
  • Have an office location/non home based business as students are required to work on-site.
