Building Bridges in the City and Beyond Conference
April 11 & 12, 2008

...........................................................................................................................

Conference sessions will take place on the 3rd Floor of the Commons Building on the UMBC campus in Catonsville, Maryland.  For a campus map and the location of the Commons Building, visit: http://www.umbc.edu/aboutumbc/campusmap/

For those traveling to Baltimore by plane:

Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) Airport is the most convenient destination.  It is located within a fifteen-minute cab or shuttle ride from downtown Baltimore.

Washington Reagan Airport (DCA) and Washington Dulles International (IAD), depending on traffic, are located approximately an hour to two hours away by cab or shuttle.

When arriving at BWI, cabs are widely available, and cost between $25 and $30 one way into downtown Baltimore.

SuperShuttle also provides shuttle service from all of the major airports and is somewhat less expensive than cab service.  For more on SuperShuttle, visit: http://www.supershuttle.com/

The Light Rail service is the most economical and convenient transportation option from BWI airport into downtown Baltimore ($1.60 each way).  Follow the signs in the airport for light rail service and take it in the direction of Hunt Valley (northbound) and get off at University Center/Baltimore Street. Follow Baltimore Street approximately one to two blocks to your right (east) until you arrive at the Radisson Lord Baltimore Hotel at 20 W. Baltimore Street.  For more on the light rail service, including hours of operation, visit: http://www.mtamaryland.com/services/lightrail/schedule/

For those traveling to Baltimore by train:

Amtrak services Penn Station (BAL) located at 1515 N Charles Street in Baltimore. Visit: www. amtrak.com

For those traveling to Baltimore by car:

For those driving to the conference and parking a car at the hotel, please check with the Radisson Lord Baltimore for daily parking rates.

For those driving directly to the UMBC for the conference and planning to park a car on campus, guest passes will be available later in the spring.  Please contact the conference organizers about receiving a guest parking pass for the dates of April 11 and 12, 2008.

For more on driving directions and on-campus parking, please visit: http://www.umbc.edu/aboutumbc/directions.php
