TIAA-CREF Institute Ruth Simms Hamilton Research Fellowship
The TIAA-CREF Institute is offering TIAA-CREF Ruth Simms Hamilton Research Fellowships. In 2007, TIAA-CREF will provide awards - up to a total of $30,000 - to eligible graduate students at U.S. colleges and universities, in recognition of their groundbreaking research that advances understanding of the African Diaspora - the dispersion and settlement of African peoples upon leaving the African continent. The submission period closes March 1, 2007.
The SREB Doctoral Scholars Program offers colleges and universities an opportunity to prepare minority students for careers in academe. The program is part of a cooperative venture among states, colleges and universities and their departments, regional education organizations, and charitable foundations. The scholarships provide $ 15,000 in annual stipend support and attendance at the Annual Institute on Teaching and mentoring - the largest gathering of minority PhD's in America seeking careers as college faculty.
The HACU National Internship Program (HNIP): recruits college students for /paid/ summer- and semester-long internships at federal agencies and private corporations in Washington, D.C., and throughout the country. These ten- and fifteen-week internship programs give college students direct experience in a diversity of careers in the federal and corporate sectors. During 2007, HNIP will celebrate 15 years of "Opening Doors of Opportunity." American Association of University Women (AAUW) Educational Foundation
The AAUW Foundation offers various fellowships, including the Eleanor Roosevelt Teacher Fellowship, which funds projects designed to promote gender equity in classrooms and schools; American Fellowships which fund dissertation and postdoctoral research of American citizens; and International Fellowships which fund research to be conducted in the home countries of non-US citizens.
Council on Library and Information Resources Fellowship
CLIR offers fellowships to individuals who have earned their PhD's in disciplines in the humanities within the past five years and who believe that there are opportunities to develop meaningful linkages between disciplinary scholarship, libraries, archives, and evolving digital tools. All fields in the humanities will be considered.

Ford Foundation Diversity Fellowships for Achieving Excellence in College and University Teaching
Ford Foundation Diversity Fellowships are offered to individuals of diversity to support study toward a doctorate degree, to support dissertation research, or to conduct postdoctoral research.
The Frederick Douglass Institute Fellowship Program
The Frederick Douglas Institute for African and African-American Studies has a broad mandate in undergraduate and graduate education, advance research, and exchange within the university community, and offers both post- and pre-doctoral fellowships.
Jacob K. Javits Fellowship Program
The program provides financial assistance to students who have demonstrated:
(1) superior academic ability and achievement;
(2) exceptional promise; and
(3) financial need to undertake graduate study leading to a doctoral degree.
The International Research Foundation for English Language Education
The International Research Foundation for English Language Education offers both Priority Research Grants of up to US $ 25,000 (for established researchers) and Doctoral Dissertation Grants of up to US $ 5,000 (for PhD students who have advanced to candidacy).
The Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund
The Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund provides financial assistance to women from developing countries during their studies in the United States.
Mellon Fellowships
The Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) is offering fellowships funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for dissertation research in the humanities in original sources.
National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship Program
Applicants may be faculty or staff members of colleges or universities, or of primary or secondary schools, and scholars and writers. They must be U.S. citizens, native residents of U.S. jurisdictions, or foreign nationals who have resided in the United States or its jurisdictions for at least three years immediately preceding the application deadline.
Presidential Management Intern Program
The program enables you to work as an intern in a federal governmental positions related to public policy. It is highly competitive, but if you are succcessful, you begin work in the federal government at a GS-9 position ($35-45,000 a year) and are then in an excellent position for future federal employment. Note that opportunities for "non-United States citizens" are "extremely limited".
The Radcliffe Institute's Fellowship Program
Radcliffe Institute fellowships are designed to support scholars, scientists, artists, and writers of exceptional promise and demonstrated accomplishments who wish to pursue work in academic and professional fields and in the creative arts.
Social Science Research Council
The Social Science Research Council and the American Council of Learned Societies offer the International Dissertation Research Fellowship (IDRF) program designed to support distinguished graduate students in the humanities and social sciences conducting dissertation research outside the United States.
Southern Regional Education Boared Doctoral Scholars Program
Southern Regional Education Board scholarships provide $15,000 annually in the form of stipends and attendance at the Annual Institute on Teaching and Mentoring.
The Spencer Foundation
Through the Dissertation Fellowship Program, the Spencer Foundation aims to build capacity in the education research community by supporting a new generation of scholars from a wide range of fields. Some thirty Fellowships of $20,000 are awarded each year to support doctoral candidates whose dissertations promise to contribute fresh perspectives to the history, theory, or practice of education.
The Texas Center for the Advancement of Literacy and Learning (TCALL) offers two fellowships each academic year. Each fellowship will consist of a one-year award which may be used to offset the cost of tuition, fees, and maintenance while a student is enrolled at Texas A & M University (TAMU) but will not exceed $25,000 each.

The newly formed Committee on Global Thought at Columbia University in New York City seeks Post-doctoral Fellows for the academic year 2007-2008. The Committee welcomes applicants from all disciplines, and seeks a mix of fellows from the sciences, social sciences, and humanities to help create a new agenda for global thinking and action.
