Sharon Fallin, the Academic Skills Coordinator and Placement Testing Specialist of the Learning Resources Center, is responsible for assisting the Director in developing, supervising, teaching and conducting LRC activities that help students be successful academically. She has responsibilities related to developing college appropriate reading and study skills; coordinating all academic and administrative tasks for student placement testing and training peer tutors.
Ms. Fallin came to UMBC in 2008, as the Academic Skills Coordinator for the Learning Resource Center (LRC). Previously, she taught at CCBC-All Campuses, Baltimore County Public Schools and in the Baltimore City School System. Recently, over the past summer she taught Black History for the CCBC Upward Bound Program.
Ms. Fallin has a Bachelor of Science degree from Coppin State University where she majored in Special Education and a minor in Adult Education. She received her Masters of Education in Urban and Diverse Learners from Goucher College.
Her future endeavors are to write two children's books, which she has the titles for and open a tutorial center for at risk students. In her spare time, she shares wonderful breakfasts with her son and watches movies
