2. Investigator use

"Hands-on" instruction in the use of Bruker MALDI-TOF and LC-MS instruments is available. The aim of instruction is to achieve the level where the researcher may independently and intelligently use an instrument. It will ordinary take a training session (usually 2 to 6 hrs) and several periods of supervised use to approach such a level. Instruction is instrument specific and free for UMBC researches whereas there is a fee of $120 for all other. Supervised use will be billed as investigator use according to the table below.

The facility manager has discretion on user access to the instruments.

3. Method development

The costs associated with the development of a Sample Preparation and/or Mass Spectrometry Protocol are highly dependent upon the degree of sample complexity, the levels of instrumentation required to achieve meaningful results, and the depth of previously reported analytical work. Therefore parties interested in these services should contact the Facility personnel to discuss your particular needs.
