Description of Research

My research interests involve long-term changes in neurochemistry associated with drug dependence. More specifically, I am interested in the role of the endogenous opioid system in modulating drug reward and withdrawal. Additionally, I am interested in the mechanisms that mediate enhanced susceptibility to drug addiction during the adolescent period of development.
