Support for Students

MIPAR employs a number of graduate research assistants each year. They are primarily, but not solely, from the UMBC Department of Public Policy. Other departments that have supplied graduate research assistants in recent years include Economics, Psychology and Sociology.

During their tenure at MIPAR, the graduate research assistants have the opportunity to apply the knowledge obtained through coursework to applied research projects and to develop valuable skills while working on those projects. MIPAR graduate research assistants also work off campus on projects at the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
