Recent Trends in Mascot Logo Design
|
|
An evolution of logo design has changed the face of university sports over the past few years. The majority of logos used by major sports franchises and our university competitors employ double-stroked text and a cartoon-like mascot treatment, adding dimension and excitement. Some universities have chosen to use the natural colors of the mascot—a brown bear, for instance—instead of relying on traditional school colors. Others have shifted their logos to give the mascot’s image more weight instead of relying on the mascot’s name as an identifier. The three new UMBC options incorporate some of the elements of these trends. |
