DRIVING DIRECTIONS AND PARKING

Parking is available in the 1st Mariner Arena parking garage (enter on Howard Street) or at any of the surrounding parking lots and garages. Parking prices for the day will vary according to each individual lot and garage. Keep in mind that traffic and parking will be congested and may require you to park several blocks away from the Arena. Please allow time to locate parking and to walk to the Arena. Participants are strongly encouraged to use the Metro subway, the Light Rail system or carpool. Please also note the information below regarding bus transportation from UMBC to and from the Arena.

Faculty and Staff will enter the Arena on Hopkins Place. Please look for the blue awning entrance.

FACULTY/STAFF LINE-UP

FACULTY/STAFF REGALIA

UMBC will subsidize the rental of academic regalia for faculty and administrative and associate staff. If you have ordered regalia at UMBC before with the online system, your information will automatically appear on the screen when you enter your user name. If you have not ordered before, you must enter the following information: your cap size, height with shoes, weight, degree earned, and the name of the school where the degree was earned.

To reserve regalia, please use the Web Commencement form. Prior to April 6, there is no cost to the faculty and staff to rent regalia. Between April 6 and May 8, a $20 late fee will be charged. No regalia may be ordered after May 8. (Even if there is only a slight chance that you will attend Commencement, you should order regalia. It is easier for the Bookstore to return unused gowns and hoods than it is to place a late order and risk not receiving delivery on time.)

Faculty and staff may pick up rented regalia at the Bookstore Monday, May 11 through Friday, May 15. If you have any questions, please call the Bookstore’s Gail Dupree at 410-455-3904.

RSVP FOR FACULTY/STAFF

For seating purposes, bus transportation and luncheon numbers, we need an RSVP for ALL faculty and staff who will march in either or both ceremonies (undergraduate or Graduate School), even if you have your own regalia. The deadline to RSVP for one or both ceremonies is Friday, May 8. Please use the Web Commencement form.
