Mimi Dietrich, American studies, is a quilter and writer for That
Patchwork Place. She resides in Baltimore with her husband Robert Dietrich,
biological sciences, who has a scholarship at UMBC established in his
name by his mother. He is laboratory facilities manager in the UMBC biological
sciences department.
1971
David Behr, history, is a cost accountant for Waukesha. He resides
in Union City, Calif. with his wife, Davun, and daughter, Darlene.
1973
George Stover, interdisciplinary studies, is television producer
for George Stover Adventure Productions. He resides in Baltimore, with
his wife, Carol.
1974
Christopher Miller Sr., English, is president of Christopher
B. Miller, Co. He resides in Fallston, Md. with his wife, Patricia,
and children Christopher Miller Jr., engineering '94, J. Eugene,
Matthew J. and Jonathan.
1976
Graceanne Boettinger, English, is a senior specialist for Verizon
and resides in Baltimore.
1977
Susan Pearce, ancient studies, is a new board member of the
UMBC Alumni Association and is the chairperson of the International
Student Friendship Program at UMBC. She is a marketing specialist at
Microcosm, Inc. and resides in Baltimore.
Cheryl (Hymiller) Johnson, social work, is owner of The NERDS
Group, which developed the State of Maryland Web site for the new "touch
screen" voting system. She is the chairperson for the UMBC Alumni
Board of Directors' Technology Infusion Committee. Cheryl and her husband,
Larry, reside in Silver Spring, Md.

Robert William Hartge, history, is an administrative assistant
at Specs, a chemical services company that works in the pharmaceutical
industry. He also works part time at the John Hopkins University as
an academic assistant and resides in Columbia, Md. with his wife, Barbara.
Susan (Epstein) Horwitz, modern languages and linguistics, is
editor of URC Macro and resides in Columbia, Md. with her husband, Edward.
1979
Joyce Tenney, ancient studies, has been elected to the executive
board of the North American Serials Interest Group. She is a serials
librarian at UMBC and resides in Baltimore with her husband, Greg.
1980
Steve Cassard Jr., political science, has been appointed deputy
secretary of the Maryland Department of General Services. He recently
served a three-month special assignment as acting deputy chief of staff
to Gov. Parris Glendening. He resides in Ellicott City, Md. with his
wife, Laura, and children, Sam, Ariana and Jacqueline.

Peter Kerzel, history, is manager of public information at
the University of Baltimore and resides in Baltimore.
Ronald Pettie, English, is sergeant for the Baltimore County
Police Department. He resides in Owings Mills, Md. with his wife, Christine.
1983
William Hoffman, health administration and policy, is manager
of grants, contracts and administration with the Center for Health Program
Development and Management at UMBC. He received a master's degree in
administrative science/health care management from the Johns Hopkins
University in 1992 and resides in Baltimore.
Denise Lee, philosophy, is program manager for the National
Service-Learning Clearinghouse and resides in Santa Cruz, Calif. with
her husband, Scot.
Edward O'Brien, political science, is a realtor for Long Realty.
He and his wife, Tracy, reside in Oro Valley, Ariz.

Mara Kent-Skruch, health administration and policy, is a professor
of sociology and the coordinator of the gerontology department at Anne
Arundel Community College. She resides in Pasadena, Md.
Monica Noguera-Wolfe, health administration and policy, is director
of human resources at HealthExtra. She resides in Rockville, Md.
Frank Spasaro, information systems, is CEO of 3Quest, Inc. and
co-founder and CEO of Burning Tree Technologies, Inc. He resides in
Bethesda, Md. with his wife, Paula.

Mary Beam, chemistry, is a senior specialist for Verizon Communications.
She resides in Crofton, Md. with her husband, George.
Gwendolyn Clavon, political science, is deputy director of portal
practice for Sytel, Inc. She resides in Upper Marlboro, Md.
Patricia (Ferguson) McCann, biological sciences, is a program
director at NASDAQ, Inc. She resides in Clarksville, Md. with her husband,
Kevin, and children, Ian and Seth.
1987
Judena (Brocato) Beyer, social work and M.A. social work, is
a homemaker. Her husband, John Beyer Jr., social work and psychology
'88, is director of adult evaluation and review services for Anne Arundel
County Government. They reside in Ellicott City, Md. with their children,
Sam, Abby and Emmy.

Cheryl Boone, political science, is a staff judge advocate for
OIC Legal Center and is a major in the United States Army stationed
in Hohenfels, Germany with her son, Sam. She is a representative for
UMBC at college fairs in Germany.
Lisa (Parr) Sun, modern languages and linguistics, resides in
Lubbock, Texas with her husband, Bill, and children, Jeffrey, Christopher
and Scott.
1989
Robert Freeman, history, is a major in the United States Navy
assigned to Headquarters Marine Corps and was promoted to senior analyst
at Calibre Systems, where he is a subcontractor developing the advanced
amphibious assault vehicle. His wife, Vi Freeman, history, is
an analyst for Value Behavioral Health. They reside in Manassas, Va.

Eric Kuzmack, emergency health services, is a systems architect
for Gannett Company, Inc. He resides in Mt. Airy, Md.
Ulric Pollard, health administration and policy, is district
sales manager for Abbott Laboratories, Pharmaceutical Products Division.
He resides in Ellicott City, Md.
Tina (Wood) Schofield, social work, is a resource specialist
for Baltimore County Public Schools. She resides in Sparks, Md.
James Zerr, modern language and linguistics, is a production
manager for Eagle Publishing Inc. and resides in Ellicott City, Md.

Catherine (Bates) Knight, American studies, was named Caroline
County Teacher of the Year and was a finalist for Maryland Teacher of
the Year. She is an eighth grade science teacher and is president of
the Caroline County Teachers Association. She resides in Denton, Md.
with her husband, Earl.
Claudia Lennhoff, psychology, of Urbnana, Ill., received a $120,000
award from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for her work fighting
for affordable healthcare for the uninsured. Lennhoff is a cancer survivor
and executive director of the advocacy organization Champaign County
Health Care Consumers.
Craig Ryder, visual arts, is a production manager at The Network
Address, Inc. He resides with his wife, Amber, in Pasadena, Md.
1992
Michelle Ackermann, political science, has been promoted to
vice president of communications for The Wilderness Society, where she
has been employed for two years and has coordinated work on forest fire
policy, as well as created a Web site about this issue. She resides
in Takoma Park, Md.
Wanda Danney, health administration and policy, is a reimbursement
collector for NeighborCare Infusion. She resides in Baltimore.
Cynthia Frosch, interdisciplinary studies, is a child and family
development consultant at Yellowhouse, LLC. She resides with her husband,
Steven, in Tucson, Ariz.
Lynne Koppenhoefer, English, is a library media specialist for
Harford County Public Schools and resides in Fallston, Md. with her
husband, Louis, and children, Caryn and April.
James Meacham, interdisciplinary studies, is vice president
and manager of emerging technologies for Washington Mutual. He resides
in Seattle, Wash.
Steven Robbins, computer science, is senior sales engineer at
Heroix Corporation. He resides in Pacifica, Calif. with his wife, Karla,
and son, Peter.
Heather Stewart, biological sciences, is a pathologist's assistant
at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. She resides in Baltimore with her
daughter, Alison.

Nicole Bliss, economics, is a vice president at the Bank of
America and resides in Sparks, Md.
Mark Hand, ancient studies, is a development associate at the
Smithsonian Institute and resides in Falls Church, Va.
Mark McDaniel, psychology, is vice president at NLP Enterprises,
Inc. He resides in Baltimore.
J. William Sparks, biological sciences, is a pediatric anesthesiologist
at the Children's Hospital of Boston, a division of Harvard Medical
School. He resides in Brookline, Mass. with his wife, Susan.

Christopher Coleman, psychology, is an attorney at Jordan,
Coyne and Savits in Washington, D.C. He resides in Mitchellville, Md.
with his wife, Tonya (Jones) Coleman, psychology '95.
Virgil Curry, Africana studies and social work '98, is a provisional
social worker for the Baltimore City Department of Social Services.
He resides in Baltimore.
Rebecca Huber, emergency health services, is a registered nurse
at West Virginia University Hospital. She resides in Morgantown, W.V.
Laurie (Phelps) Reuben, psychology, is president of Cheshire
Consulting Group and resides in Laurel, Md. with her husband, Daniel.
Tishna Singh, health administration and policy, is a manager
at Covance Health Economics and Outcomes Services, Inc. She resides
in Columbia, Md.

Nikhil Bijlani, mathematics, is an analyst at Riggs Bank. He
resides in Gaithersburg, Md. with his wife, Angela.

Scott Sherry, emergency health services, is a physician's assistant
at Legacy Emmanuel Hospital Trauma Service in Portland, Ore. He participates
in trauma resuscitation, critical care duties and surgical assisting.
He resides in Portland, Ore. with his wife, Shannon.
Sally Shivnan, English, received the Silver Rose Award for Excellence
in the Art of the Short Story from the American Renaissance for the
21st Century Foundation. She is a faculty member in the English department
at UMBC and resides in Churchton, Md.
1996
James Bromhal, interdisciplinary studies, is a database engineer
and consultant for Business Knowledge Architects and resides in San
Antonio, Texas.
Melissa Schofield, psychology, is a marine mammal trainer at
the National Aquarium in Baltimore. She resides in Glen Burnie, Md.
with her husband, T. David Schofield, a current UMBC student.
1997
Alysen Espersen, visual and performing arts, is an interactive
multimedia developer for the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics
Laboratory. She resides in Pasadena, Md.
Jose Lobo, M.A. intercultural communications, is a teacher at
Centro Cultural Colombo Americano and resides with his wife, Alida,
in Barranquilla, Colombia.
Michelle Reinsfelder, information systems, is senior software
specialist for the American Institutes for Research. She resides in
Kensington, Md. with her husband, Christian.

Patricia (Popdan) Allar, American studies, is a teacher for
Montgomery County Public Schools and resides in Olney, Md. with her
husband, Greg, and son, Joseph.
Lisa Eney, interdisciplinary studies, is a business analyst
for Global eSolutions and resides in Baltimore.
Shannon Goetz, modern languages and linguistics, completed a
summer internship with Audiology Associates, Inc. where she met with
U.S. Senator Thomas Daschle and learned about pending policy issues
that relates to audiology. She is a doctoral candidate at Central Michigan
University and resides in Mt. Pleasant, Mich.
Tinney Parrish, history and M.A. historical studies '00, is
senior pastor at Tabernacle Baptist Church. He resides in Linthicum,
Md. with his wife, Michelle, a current UMBC student, and children,
Amy and Andrew.
Kelly Slagle, English, co-wrote an adaptation of Sartre's "No
Exit," which was presented at the Art-O-Matic 2002 Festival in
Washington, D.C. She also founded a theatre company, Cavegirl Productions,
and resides in Laurel, Md.
Tamara Smith, modern languages and linguistics, received a master's
degree in library science from the University of Pittsburgh in August
2002. She is a reference and instruction librarian at Hillman Library
at the University of Pittsburgh and resides in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Michele (Noonan) Wilkerson, mathematics, is a mathematician
for the U.S. Department of the Navy. She resides in Odenton, Md. with
her husband, Joseph.
1999
Keri Burneston, visual and performing arts, won an Open Society
Institute Fellowship, enabling her to sustain projects with the theatre
company Fluid Movement and the Living Classrooms Foundation. She resides
in Baltimore.
Stafford Conley, biological sciences, is in his final year of
studies at the University of Maryland Dental School and resides in Baltimore.
Konrad Crispino, visual and performing arts, is a graphic designer
for the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He resides
in Baltimore.
Kris Kazmierski, emergency health services, is a computer network
technician at Johns Hopkins Hospital. His wife, Margaret (Falkowski)
Kazmierski, social work '99, is a clinical social worker in geropsychiatry
at the University of Maryland Medical Center. They reside in Nottingham,
Md.
Toya (Smith) Marshall, American studies, is management analyst
at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. She resides in Baltimore
with her husband, Victor.
Angela Wells-White, health administration and policy, is manager
of reimbursement for Holy Cross Hospital. She received her master's
degree in business administration from the University of Baltimore in
2001 and will begin law school in this coming fall, studying health
law. She resides in Baltimore.
David Wildt, information systems and interdisciplinary studies,
is a leased line technical support representative, for Intermedia Communications,
Inc. He resides in Baltimore.

Kurt Benedict, economics, is a real estate broker at Peninsula
Investment Real Estate Brokerage in Irvine, Calif. He resides in Newport
Beach, Calif.
Paula Hardcastle, information systems, is a bookkeeper for Blair
and Hardcastle and resides in Glenwood, Md. with her husband, Mark,
and children, Jack and Emily.

Joanna Beatty, English, is education director at Cambridge
Educational Center and resides in Baltimore.
Patrick Gollegly, psychology, is an addictions counselor at
the Patuxent Institution. He resides in Baltimore.
Ina Jenkins, psychology, is an administrative assistant at the
Ingenuity Project at the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute. She resides
in Baltimore.
Lori (Buss) Mintz, sociology, is a lease term clerk for Toyota
Motor Credit Corporation. She resides in Westminster, Md. with her husband,
Michael, and her daughter, Kathryn.
Shaghayegh Nazemian, health administration and policy, is a
billing coordinator for Maxim Healthcare. She is pursuing a master's
degree in sociology at UMBC and resides in Catonsville, Md.
Dawn (Herith) Patchen, visual and performing arts, owns Designs
by Dawn and is an operations agent for Southwest Airlines. She resides
in Baltimore with her husband, Hiram.
Raymond Sheets Jr., biological sciences and psychology, began
a two-year master's degree program in clinical psychology at Loyola
College. He works in the Office of Student Life at Loyola College and
resides in Baltimore.
