How Can I Get Involved

Alumni Mentors

Students in all majors can benefit from a mentoring relationship with a professional working in their field of interest. If you are interested in mentoring a student or would like more information on mentoring opportunities, call Christina Hardy at 410-455-2632 or e-mail hardy@umbc.edu.

Pre-Med Mentoring

If you work in the medical community, UMBC currently is matching students with alumni physicians and is still looking for more mentors. If you would like to become a mentor or have questions about the program, call Lauren Kean at 410-455-1577 or e-mail lauren@umbc.edu.

Backpack to Briefcase

Take a short break from your workday to attend a luncheon sponsored by the Alumni Association and The Shriver Center. Students have the opportunity to interact with alumni, ask career advice and network with professionals from their desired field. To volunteer, call the Office of Alumni Relations at 410-455-ALUM or e-mail alum@umbc.edu.

Admissions Receptions

Share your experiences at UMBC with prospective students and their families. During the spring, the Alumni Association and the Office of Admissions will host receptions for admitted students in several Maryland counties tentatively scheduled for March 16, 17, 30 and 31, 2004. Check with the Alumni Association for specific locations. For information, e-mail alum@umbc.edu or call 410-455-ALUM.
