Retreiver Athletic Center Add-on
The UMBC Athletics Department is outgrowing its current spaces. Today's student population requires larger and more diverse opportunities than previously provided. Many locker rooms, training areas, and storage areas are shared by too many organizations.

In 2000 and 2001, planning began for a renovation  to the existing Retriever Athletic Center. Many schemes of addition plans have since been reviewed. Men's basketball will receive totally new locker rooms in the new 2-story renovation addition, along with senior training room and a small media area. A small amount of extra storage area would be provided to free up other resources through the RAC. Women's basketball will take over the old men's locker-room, which will be renovated before use. The addition is on the east side of the RAC between the entry vestibules and adjacent to the exterior tennis courts. One tennis court may be removed to maintain vehicular access to the outdoor pool.
