Commuter Assistants (CAs)

Hope Arbesman Hope Arbesman
Hope graduated with her A.A. from Carroll Community College and transferred to UMBC in Spring 2013. She is a currently a Junior with double major in Psychology and Sociology. Hope is apart of the Transfer Student Network which helps transfer students assimilate into the UMBC community. In addition to working at OCSS, Hope is apart of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Pi sorority and enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Hope is looking forward to meeting new people and continuing to enjoy her time at UMBC.
Tom Belliveau Tom Belliveau
Tom is a Junior at UMBC. His major is mathematics and he plans on becoming a teacher or a tutor (and maybe a world traveller) after he finishes his degree . He works with the Transfer Student Network even though he isn't a transfer student; he is involved with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship on campus, and he enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee every Friday.
Chris Cho Chris Cho
Chris is a Senior at UMBC. He is double majoring in Philosophy and Anthropology and has been commuting to UMBC for three years going on four. Apart from school Chris works at the Off Campus Student Services as a member of the Commuter Connections to help integrate commuters into the UMBC community.
Tiffany Cook Tiffany Cook
Tiffany is a Junior at UMBC. Her major is Mathematics and she plans on graduating with a certification in Elementary Education. She works with the Commuter Connection team here at OCSS. She is also affiliated with the Sherman Teacher Education Program, better known as Sherman Scholars.
Chloe Jackson Chloe Jackson
Chloe is the Technical Specialist for OCSS and works on our web and social media marketing. Chloe was raised in Lusby, Maryland and attended Patuxent High School. In her freshman year of college, she attended Notre Dame of Maryland University, located in Baltimore city. Chloe is glad she took the chance to transfer to UMBC. She loves UMBC and says being here has made her a better person.
Christian Oyson Christian Oyson
Christian is a Sophomore at UMBC. His major is Information Systems with a minor in Computer Science. Christian volunteered with Good Morning Commuters as a Freshman and now is an official member of the Good Morning Commuters team. Aside from working with OCSS, Christian is a videographer, drummer, billiard player, gamer, likes and hangs out with his friends on campus and at his hometown, Eldersburg. He's looking forward to helping OCSS as an official Commuter Assistant.
Marisa Regelin Marissa Regelin
Marissa is a Senior who started working as a Graphic Designer at OCSS in January 2013. She is a Graphic Design major with a Print Media minor. Marissa is part of the Linehan Artist Scholars program and is the Senior Managing Editor of Bartleby, UMBC's Creative Arts Journal. In addition to being a designer for OCSS, she also works as a freelance designer for a variety of clients.
Angela Saguros Angela Saguros
Angela is a sophomore at UMBC. She transferred to UMBC in Fall 2013. Her major is Psychology with a concentration in Developmental Psychology. Angela is a new CA in OCSS this spring, working on our Good Morning Commuters program. Aside from her work in OCSS, she is apart of the Filipino-American Student Association. She enjoys dancing, hanging with friends, and baking.
Carlos Salazar Carlos Salazar
Carlos is a sophomore who has been attending UMBC since his freshman year. Although he currently lives on campus, Carlos commuted to UMBC his first semester which lead to an interest in OCSS. He started working as a commuter assistant during fall 2013. He is also working as a member of the RAC Event Staff. Currently double majoring in Economics and Health Administration and Policy, Carlos hopes to eventually go to business school to work towards his MBA.
Madhvi Shukla Madhvi Shukla
Madhvi is a new CA in OCSS this spring, working on our Good Morning Commuters program. She is a senior, political science major, graduating December 2014. She transferred here from Towson University, and is originally from the College Park area in PG County. Madhvi says living between Downtown Baltimore and Washington D.C., she gets the best of both worlds, and enjoys getting into activities in both areas. Madhvi loves cooking Mediterranean food and baking whenever she has the time.
Salma Waheed Salma Waheed
Salma is a junior who transferred to UMBC in Spring 2012. Her major is Psychology with an certification in Early Education. This is her first year working at OCSS with the Transfer Student Network. She is excited to help transfer students adjust to life at UMBC and hopes to meet new students at along the way.
Safa Zahangir Safa Zahangir
Safa is an international student at UMBC. She is a rising Sophmore majoring in Biology with a minor in International Affairs. She is a new commuter assistant at the OCSS working with the commuter connection team. Safa volunteers at the Mercy Medical Center during the weekends and hopes to pursue her career in medicine in the future. She looks forward to a great year at UMBC and at the off campus student service.
