Alvin Blesson Alvin Blesson
Alvin began working as a Commuter Assistant in Fall 2014. Born and raised in Catonsville, Maryland, Alvin attended high school right down the road at Catonsville High School. He is currently a Computer Engineering major in his third year at UMBC. He is also a part of several multicultural clubs at UMBC. Alvin likes to stay active by playing sports with friends and exercising whenever he gets the chance.
Klara Cheung Klara Cheung
Klara began working as a Commuter Assistant in Fall 2014. She is a senior at UMBC and a Financial Economics student pursuing Accounting. Klara transferred to UMBC in Spring 2012. She is a member of alpha Kappa Delta Phi Sorority Inc as Vice-President, Campus External and President of the Multicultural Greek Council.
Diana Chou Diana Chou
Diana began working as the Graphic Designer for OCSS in Fall 2014. She is currently a senior pursuing a B.F.A. in Graphic Design as well as a B.A. in Business Technology Administration, with minors in Print Media and Art History. Diana is also an executive board leader and active member of many cultural organizations on campus such as Hong Kong Student Association, Asian Student Connection, and Filipino-American Student Association. At UMBC, she is involved in both the fields of visual arts as a Linehan Artist Scholar and information technology. In her spare time she enjoys drawing, playing video games, practicing table tennis, and trying out special effects makeup..
Sonny Duttweiler Sonny Duttweiler
Sonny began working as a Commuter Assistant in Fall 2014. He grew up in Prince George's County, but he attended high school in Calvert County. Sonny is currently in his third year at UMBC, and he is pursuing a biology major as well as a chemistry minor in order to go into a career in pharmacy. Sonny is very passionate about music and has played bass in an alternative rock band for four years.
Chloe Jackson Chloe Jackson
Chloe is the Technical Specialist for OCSS and works on our web and social media marketing. Chloe was raised in Lusby, Maryland and attended Patuxent High School. In her freshman year of college, she attended Notre Dame of Maryland University, located in Baltimore city. Chloe is glad she took the chance to transfer to UMBC. She loves UMBC and says being here has made her a better person.
Angela Saguros Angela Saguros
Angela is a junior at UMBC. She transferred to UMBC in Fall 2013 from Bowie State University. Her major is Psychology with a concentration in Developmental Psychology. Aside from her work in OCSS, she is apart of the Filipino-American Student Association. She enjoys dancing, playing flag football, and baking.

Safa Zahangir Safa Zahangir
Safa is an international student from Bangladesh and currently she is a rising junior with a major in Biology and a minor in Psychology. She is a returning Commuter Assistant at OCSS. She is a member of the UMBC Alpha Sigma Kappa-Women in Technical Studies Sorority and treasurer of the UMBC Women of Color Coalition. Safa is a research assistant at the UMBC Couples and Family Lab and also volunteers at Saint Agnes Hospital. She enjoys playing badminton, catching up on her favorite tv shows and spending time with her family and friends. Safa hopes to pursue a career in medicine and dreams of working with Doctors Without Borders in the future.
Alexa White Alexa White
Alexa began working as the Sustainability Intern with OCSS in Fall 2014. She is a senior studying Environmental Science with minors in Spanish and Music. She was previously President of Students for Environmental Awareness (SEA). This introduced her to the planning of events and working on campus sustainability initiatives that she does now with OCSS. Alexa is still an active member of SEA and Geography & Environmental Systems Council of Majors. She takes viola lessons with the music department and plays in the UMBC Symphony and a quartet. When she graduates, she hopes to work abroad doing something like Peace Corps and eventually work on climate change policy or environmental education.
Hope Arbesman Hope Arbesman
Hope is a senior at UMBC. She is graduating this December with her BA in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. After graduating UMBC, Hope will be enrolled at Loyola University Maryland pursuing an M.Ed. in School Counseling. During her time at UMBC, Hope has been a student employee of OCSS since 2013. She has specifically worked with the Transfer Student Network, implementing a variety of programs that help acclimate transfer students to the UMBC community. Hope has enjoyed her time working with students and getting to meet a variety of new people and make connections on campus.
Bukky Olagun Bukky Olagun
Bukky Olagun is a Junior with a Health Administration and Public Policy (HAPP) major and a Spanish minor. She transferred from Howard Community College in the fall of 2012. She started working with Off-Campus Student Services office in Fall 2014 as a Transfer Student Network leader. She loves reading and watching old black and white movies! Bukky hopes to one day get a chance to travel the world to learn about different cultures and help with public health policies in different parts of the world.
Samantha Perlmutter Samantha Perlmutter
Samantha began working at OCSS in the Fall of 2014. She is a Transfer student leader for the OCSS office. She is currently pursing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and in her third year. She hopes to continue in her academics and go on to get her PHD in clinical psychology. She also works on campus as a tutor and is involved in different clubs. She enjoys being involved on campus and helping other students!
