UMBC Incoming Graduate Student Survey
This survey is based on an Incoming Graduate Student Survey from the University of California, Berkeley. They have graciously shared their survey with UMBC.
All of your responses will be kept strictly confidential. They will help us design better graduate student policies and plan for future student services, orientation, and housing needs. You may withdraw from the survey at any time, or skip any questions that you do not wish to answer.
When you have finished the survey or want to continue to the next page, you must click the submit button (located at the very bottom of the survey) for us to receive your responses.
This survey should take approximately 15 minutes or less to complete.
ALL INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE WILL BE TREATED AS CONFIDENTIAL.
The information from this survey will only be available to your department in an aggregated form that cannot be used to discern the identity of any survey participant.
The Graduate School will use your UMBC username as an identifier to determine who has responded to the survey and to contact non responders. Once your survey responses are received, the link between your response information and your identity will be removed. The information from your responses to this questionnaire will be compiled and analyzed by the Graduate School.
In the case of questions with an open-ended response, comments will be reported only in an anonymous form that does not disclose the identity of the respondent. Only these aggregated data will be used in any report or presentation concerning the survey.
As a new incoming graduate student, this is an important opportunity for you to be heard on issues related to graduate education, both in your program and in general.
If you
and your fellow students respond at a high rate, the results will provide important
information about and to your program that will help facilitate change for subsequent cohorts.
