UMBC Blackboard Users Group

As Blackboard usage continues to grow at UMBC, users become an invaluable resource on how to use the application. To help, the Office of Information Technology has created--and supports--a Blackboard Users Group "Community" site inside Blackboard itself. Enrollment is voluntary and open to all UMBC students, faculty and staff.

Features include:

  • Searchable Discussion Boards to ask questions of or share tips with other UMBC Blackboard users;

  • UMBC Blackboard Update monthly newsletter, published by the Office of Information Technology;

  • User survey and results posted every semester;

  • Workshop schedules and support documents

In addition to providing support, OIT hopes to build an online community through innovative uses of the Blackboard courseware.

To learn more or enroll

1. Login to Blackboard

2. Use the Organization Search or browse the Organization Catalog on the Community tab. Select "Clubs & Organizations."

3. Click on "Preview" or the "Blackboard Users Group" site link below:

4. To Enroll, click on the "Enroll" button.
