Room 021 Open Lab
The
Open Computer Lab is located in the Engineering building
room 021. There are 59 computers - 42 Windows 2000, 17
eMacs, & an Epson flatbed scanner. Please check 'Hours
of Operation' for availability. Times may change depending
on semester.
12:00 midnight to 7:00 am
After Hours Lab Access:
- Only UMBC Students who have a Valid UMBC One Card ID and are registered for classes at UMBC may be permitted in the overnight labs. If you don’t have a UMBC ID (i.e. Red and White card), you CANNOT be in the lab after hours.
- Do Not Prop Open the Lab doors during overnight hours (Midnight to 7:00AM)
- Do not fill the paper trays with paper to the open lab printers. Help Desk will replenish supplies before they leave and as soon as they arrive in the morning.
- Computer Problems Please use the online work order to report any technical/computer problems or questions. http://www.umbc.edu/oit/workorder.html (Campus Police will not address these issues.) Technical questions or problems will be addressed the following day during regular business hours.
Personal Security
- Emergency Buttons are Installed for Your Safety. They connect directly with UMBC Campus Police. Police will respond to the location if the button is pressed. Report ALL threats to personal security.
- DO NOT leave valuable items in the labs, e.g. wallets, purses, laptops
- Always carry your UMBC ID card – Campus Police will NOT let you into the overnight lab if you do not have a valid UMBC Photo ID (Red and White card)
UMBC One Card ID
- Keep your UMBC Photo ID with you at all times. If you leave the lab during the evening hours you will need your card to gain access to the lab again.
- ENG 021: Overnight access to this lab is available to all valid Faculty, Staff and Students bearing a UMBC One Card
- ENG 005: This lab can only be accessed by VART students registered for classes in 005.
- Problems with swiping must be reported to Communication Services – UMBC Campus Police will not attend to these problems
