Map AFS Directory to Windows Drives

Step One

Click on the Start Menu.

Go to Programs (All Programs), select OpenAFS.

Open the sub-heading for Client, then click on Authentication

Step Two

The AFS Client window will appear on your screen.

Now select the tab for Drive Letters.

Click the Add button.

Step Three

A new window will appear asking for details about the new "drive" you're going to create.

Drive letter is the Windows drive letter under which the new mapping will appear.

The next box is for the full AFS path to the volume you want to map. To find the full path, open Terra Term and navigate to the directory you want to map, then type pwd (present working directory). This will give you the full path to that directory.

Lastly you can assign a description to this volume (ie: VART, school). This name will appear in My Computer once the drive is mapped.

Step Four

You're Done!

You should now see your drive mapping in My Computer!

Note: It may take a minute for the new drive mapping to be fully set up. Don't worry if it doesn't come up immediately.
