SUPPORT Here you can find tips, "Show & Tell" demos, helpsheets and routine request forms (e.g., create a course, delete a course, etc.).
Individual Consults After the face-to-face workshop, each participant who intends to present two learning objects in exchange for financial support is encouraged to meet with Barry Casey(Acting Director, Faculty Development Center) and John Fritz (Director, Instructional Technology & New Media) for a one-on-one interview to better understand and support each course's learning goals. Taken together, the workshop and personal interviews are designed to help participants meet the "deliverable" requirements of the Alternate Delivery Program throughout the remainder of the fall or spring semester prior to teaching a winter or summer special session course. Deliverable Presentations Even if you are not requesting financial support through the ADP, these open sessions are a great way to hear how others address issues and opportunities that emgerge from redesigning a course for hybrid delivery. If you are thinking about teaching a hybrid course in the future or requesting ADP funds, these sessions will help you reflect on solving a current pedagogical problem or creating a new learning opportunity for students. Lunch is provided to registered participants. Past Participants Faculty learn best from other faculty, so if you want to know what it's like to teach a hybrid course or what you have to do to meet the ADP deliverable requirements, contact one the ADP past participants. Hybrid Participant Panel Discussion Watch this panel discussion featuring faculty that have successfully taught in the hybrid environment. Learn what works and what doesn't and get some tips, tricks and ideas for your course. Hybrid Courses Faculty Email Listserve & Blackboard Workshop Site The email listserve is used primarily for announcements, FYIs and hybrid-related tips. The companion "Hybrid Course Design Workshop" site in Blackboard also contains tips, handouts, links and tutorials. Its membership mirrors the email listserve, but is not automatically updated. To subscribe to the email listserve, use the web site above. To access the Hybrid Blackboard Site, visit http://blackboard.umbc.edu, search for the site and "self-enroll" (Show Me).
Website for Making Rubrics Jack Prostko showed this site in the Hybrid Training Workshop, and it's very easy to use. It's a great way to create (and even save or download) a rubric you can edit later. For more information . . . Beth
