The CampusID is a perpetual, persistent identifier assigned to each member of the UMBC campus community by the Identity Management System.

It is a 7-character, alpha-numeric string of the form CCNNNNX, where the "C"s are letters (excluding "I" and "O"), the N's are base-10 digits, and "X" is base-10 checkdigit calulated with the Verheoff checkdigit algorithm.

The system of record for the CampusID is OIT's IDMS, where it is stored in the umbcCampusID attribute.
