Identifier:Magstripe
From Syscore
This is a 16-digit numerical value stored on the magstripe of the UMBC One-card. It is not printed on the card, and is meant to be used as a "key" value for physical access controls or accessing the holder's meal/cash accounts.
As it is an ISO standard value, it uses UMBC's unique prefix of "639333", and contains the standard checksum used on credit cards.
These numbers are issued "randomly" by the ID Card office upon the printing of a one-card. Each card gets a unique value; they are never re-used or re-issued, even when a replacement card is issued to an individual.
The perl package UMBC::ID::ISO can be used to validate, or generate sequences of these numbers for use.
An individual's ISO value is stored in the umbconecardiso attribute in the IDMS.
