Shared email accounts

A shared email account - also known as a "group account" or a "shared login" - is a single account to which multiple users are given the password. This, of course, gave full login privileges - not just email access - to all users with the password.

Prior to implementing the Maildir mailbox format, this was the only way we could offer multiple-user access to a shared email folder or collection. We will soon be looking at a plan to transition all shared email accounts to our new Shared email boxes service.
