Data Storage
Email data is currently stored on our AFS Fileservers.
IMAP/POP Service
We currently have 5 IMAP/POP Servers, which are located behind a load balancer. We can operate at full capacity with one of these servers unavailable, and with full functionality but reduced capacity at lower levels. Three of these servers are located in our ENG datacenter, and two are located in Public Policy.
Mail Delivery
We currently have 5 SMTP Servers, located behind a load balancer. We can operate at full capacty with one of these servers unavailable, and with full functionality but reduced capacity at lower levels. Three of these servers are loated in our ENG datacenter, and two are located in Public Policy.
WebMail
Currently we have one WebMail server, which is dependant on a single MySQL Server. The data storage for this the database and server is mirrored between our Public Policy and ENG datacenters; webmail can be brought up on an alternate server on very short notice in case of a hardware failure, and is often moved to another server for software or hardware maintenance.
