UMBC Blackboard Course Creation-Deletion-Copy Request

If you are an instructor interested in:

setting up a Blackboard course,
deleting an existing course of yours, or
copying a current course for use during a current or future semester

please select an option below. This request will be processed within 2 working days and we will send you email confirmation when your course request has been completed.

If you are a staff or faculty member interested in setting up a Blackboard organization, please send your request to blackboard@umbc.edu. Do not use the form below, which is only for managing courses.

Note: You MUST have a valid UMBC userid to use a Blackboard course at UMBC. To initiate or manage your UMBC user account, click here. If you have problems creating your UMBC user account, contact the OIT Help Desk at 410.455.3838, helpdesk@umbc.edu or use the OIT work request form.

 
New Course

New: A new course is created from the UMBC Course Template. Included within the Course Template are tutorials that demonstrate many of the functions included in Blackboard courses.

Delete Course

Delete: At your request, we will permanently delete a Blackboard course. We recommend making a backup copy of the course from Blackboard for possible future use before submitting a deletion request.

Copy Course

Copy: Copying a course enables an instructor to use the same materials (i.e. slides, exams, assignments) and course layout they have used in a previous semester course.
