Course Announcements |

Announcements
allow you to post pertinent information you would like your
students to view. Common uses for Blackboard announcements
include:
- Welcome
messages and course reminders
- Project / assignment due dates
- Posting exam dates / Blackboard exam availability
- Class cancellation notifications

Control Panel - click on Announcements |

Adding an Announcement |
|
From the Announcements
page, click Add Announcement.
The option to sort
announcements by day, week, month, or all applies only to
your announcements view. Students may customize this view
for their own Blackboard use.
NOTE: Please
do not remove announcements posted by Blackboard administrators
during the semester. These are often important system updates.

Enter the text of the Announcement; Date and Time display restrictions |

Announcement Information
The Subject
line is the heading of the announcement (Message).
This can be displayed as regular text or HTML code. You can
place emphasis on text using BOLD or changing text color
Options
If you would like
this announcement to be the first announcement appearing in
the course, select Always show this announcement on
the course's main page. When this is selected, it
is denoted by a Permanent
note.
You may also choose when you prefer a message to be displayed
or removed from view by exact date and time.
Click Submit
when you have completed your announcement.

Modifying and Removing Announcements |

Modifying
an Announcement
When you click
the Modify button, you may change the text
of the announcement, as well as the availability options.
The modify window returns you the same options
seen when creating the original message.
Removing
an Announcement
Click the Remove
button, then confirm removal of the announcement
by clicking Ok.
