Course Gradebook: Downloading Your Gradebook

The Gradebook section of your course Control Panel (see graphic, right) allows you to download a copy of course grades as Excel spreadsheet. By default, the file is called gb_export.csv. You have the option to change the file name before and after downloading.

NOTE: This feature is primarily for students to view their grades, and does not officially represent their course grades as acknowledged by UMBC.

Gradebook, located in the course Control Panel under "Assessments"

1. From the "View Spreadsheet" page, click Download Grades
Click Download Grades

2. Download, Save, and Rename.

Click Download.

Then, click Save when prompted by the "File Download" dialog box.

You may choose the location to which you want to save the file, and rename it to something you will remember (ex. "coursegrades.csv").

3. Opening the .csv spreadsheet file

To view the information in each column, you will have to resize them. Each assignment/quiz, as well as total points and weighted total, will have its own column and corresponding grades to each student.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Bob Armstrong at 410.455.3885 or rarmstro@umbc.edu or blackboard@umbc.edu.
