You must have a valid UMBC userid to use Blackboard at UMBC. You can log into Blackboard using any browser whether on or off campus (assuming that you have a working Internet connection). NOTE: The preferred browser is Mozilla Firefox as it generally experiences the least number of issues.

Visit http://blackboard.umbc.edu

Open a new browser (it is necessary that you not use a browser on which you have already logged into any web site that uses cookies to store information), and enter the URL http://blackboard.umbc.edu. We suggest using Mozilla Firefox, however, we have successfully tested Blackboard with Internet Explorer, Safari. and Chrome.

Click the link on the left side of the page (Please click here to login).

When prompted, login to the UMBC WebAuth page (your UMBC userid and password).

You are returned to the My Institution page of Blackboard after your userid is recognized.
