PROPOSAL
FORMAT AND PREPARATION
Proposals
must be submitted by the department chair via email
to Dr. Antonio Moreira, Vice Provost for Academic
Affairs (email: moreira@umbc.edu).
These proposals should identify the courses in which
curricular changes will be undertaken and briefly
explain how these changes support the priorities listed
above. In particular, we are requesting that departments
briefly address these questions:
- How
does your proposal address the issue of technological
fluency within your discipline or on the campus
broadly as a service course?
- How
will your proposal support UMBC's priorities as
defined in the priorities section above?
- Who
are the faculty from your department who would
participate in this training
Faculty
training and development, along with ongoing support,
will be provided through the Faculty Development Center
and OIT. In addition, the Provost Office and the Office
of Information Technology have set aside $15,000 in
funding that can be used to offset costs associated
with the departmental plans. This funding may be used
to purchase equipment or software, purchase instructional
materials, provide external training, hire student assistants
for courses, or provide a small summer stipend for faculty.
Chairs should list in their proposal how they would
use this funding, up to a maximum of $7,500. |
