People often ask if the Office of Information Technology (OIT) can sell them a computer for their own use.  OIT handles computer purchases for the University but can only sell to departments on campus.  We can't sell to individuals.

The UMBC Bookstore can offer good prices for computers - PCs and Macs. Check their site for education prices on hardware and software. Other vendors may offer special rates too.   It never hurts to ask! Our minimum required specs can be found on http://www.umbc.edu/oit/sans/desktopsupport/specs.html

University Commons loans out computers on an hourly basis for a fee. Please contact the Circ Desk at 410-455-1000 for additional information.
