Five Easy Steps to Secure your Computer

Install and Run Anti-Adware/Anti-Spyware

Visit the OIT Software downloads page (http://www.umbc.edu/oit/software) to begin downloading the program. When a new dialog box appears on the screen; click the open button.



Afterwards, you will see a screen asking you to select a language. Select English then click ok.



On the next screen, just click the next button.


On the screen afterwards...
1) Click the I accept radio button.
2) Click the next button.


On the following screen, do not change the location where Spybot will be saved onto your computer, just click next.


Then do the following...
1) Uncheck the additional languages and the skins to change appearance checkbox.
2) Click the next button.


Right after, do not change anything and click the next button.


On the next screen...
1) Uncheck the create desktop icon and create a quick launch icon checkbox.
2) Click the next button.


Finally, click the install button on the next screen.
