- Go to the Microsoft Windows Update page. (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com)
- Click the Yes button if you are prompted to trust Microsoft's site.
- Click the Scan for Updates link.
- Click the Review and Install Updates link.
- If there are no asterisks (*) next to any of the updates listed, click the Install Now button.
Important: If there is an asterisk (*) next to one or more of the updates listed, those updates need to be installed separately. To do this:
- Select one update with an asterisk (*).
- Click the Remove button beside all the other updates listed.
- Click the Intall Now button.
- After reading the license agreement, click the Accept button.
- Click Next.
- Select the I Agree option.
- Click Next.
- Click OK to restart your computer.
Return to the Microsoft Windows Update page (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com) and repeat these steps until there are no more critical updates to install.
