PROPOSAL FORMAT

Proposals must be submitted by the department chair or graduate program director via email to Antonio Moreira, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs (email: moreira@umbc.edu). These proposals should identify the courses in which curricular changes will be undertaken and briefly explain how these changes support the priorities listed above. In particular, we are requesting that departments briefly address these questions:

    1. Who are the faculty from your department who will participate?
    2. How does this proposal address the issue of technological fluency within your discipline or on the campus broadly as a service course?
    3. How will your proposal improve student engagement in the classroom?

Faculty training, along with ongoing support, is available through the Faculty Development Center and OIT. Grants may be used to purchase equipment or software, purchase instructional materials, provide external training, hire student assistants for courses, or provide a small stipend for faculty attending departmental training.
