Using Your Movable Type Blog

1. Navigate to http://www.umbc.edu/mt

2. Find your blog on the list and click "Create Entry" to the right of the title

3. Enter a headline. (See image below)

4. Insert the first paragraph in the area called "Enter Body." (See image below) If your item is short (2 or 3 paragraps) you can put all of the text in this field. If it's longer, you might want to put the first paragraph in this field and the rest of the information in the area below called "Extended Entry." If you put information in "Extended Entry," Movable Type automatically makes a "next" link. If you want to create a link, highlight the text you want to link, click on the icon that looks like a small chain, and enter the url you're linking to.

When you've finished typing or pasting in your entry, scroll to the bottom of the screen and change "Draft" to "Publish," then click "Save" at the very bottom.

You can view your entry by clicking on "View Site" at the top of the screen. (See image)
