IT security investigation at UMBC often involves information of a personally or legally sensitive nature. Under some circumstances, OIT may not be able to respond fully to your report of such an issue other than to acknowledge that the report has been received and will be acted upon. We ask you to understand that, while we may not be able to tell you just what has happened, we greatly appreciate any information that you may provide regarding possible security issues.

Please understand that due to certain privacy concerns and legal restrictions, we cannot share with you the outcome of our investigation or the specific steps we take to address your concerns.

OIT may at any time choose to monitor traffic throughout the Residential Network for security reasons.

All users are responsible for any traffic originating from a computer they are logged into.
